Rihanna has broken British chart records by becoming the first female star to have five number ones in the same amount of years after her single What’s my name? which features Drake went from No 2 to No 1 in the UK singles charts.
Rihanna
The Barbados born R&B singer is the first woman to have broken this record since Elvis Presley who was the last person to achieve such chart success.
What’s my name? is straight off the heels of the previous single Only Girl (in the world) which is also on her new and fifth studio album Loud.
Loud has also held onto the top position in the album charts selling close to 900,000 copies since its release in November.
Rihanna moved to America when she was just 16 with the dream of becoming a professional singer and recording artist and just a few years later she bursts onto the world stage with her single Umbrella making her a household name around the world thanks to her discovery by Jay-Z who also co-wrote the song from her 2007 album Good Girl Gone Bad on Def Jam Records.
Good Girl Gone Bad was the album that launched her career and made it to No 1 of which Umbrella was its lead promotional single
