Fox News made an announcement on Wednesday, that it was dropping an interview with rapper and “NCIS: Los Angeles” star LL Cool J, which was to feature in the debut episode of a new series “real American Stories,” which will be hosted by Sarah Palin.
According to a recent report at nytimes.com, LL Cool J, whose real name is James Todd Smith, wrote a message on his Twitter account on Tuesday, claiming that Fox News was “misrepresenting” him in promotions for the new show, by using a 2008 interview with him.
In a statement that was issued by Fox News, it said “’Real American Stories’ features uplifting tales of overcoming adversity and we believe Mr. Smith’s interview fit that criteria.” They went on to say that they were cutting his interview from the special.
Fox News says that it conducted an interview with LL Cool J – whose other acting credits include the movie “Deep Blue Sea” and the TV series “In the House” – about 18 months ago for “Real American Stories,” and that was the interview footage used.
