Tinchy Stryder has revealed that he originally considered collaborating with Alesha Dixon on recent single 'Never Leave You'.
The rapper, who eventually recorded the song with Sugababes singer Amelle Berrabah, confirmed that he held initial talks with Dixon about taking the female vocal.
Speaking to Alex and Lucy on Key 103's IN:DEMAND, he said: "After the song was written, I wanted a female vocalist, that was the idea before we even got in the studio.
"I thought Amelle's voice could suit what I wanted for the song, but then my A&R and a couple people said Alesha Dixon should do it.
"We chatted to her as well, but obviously then Amelle got the track first and she loved it so she came into the studio."
Stryder added that he was overwhelmed with the success of the song, which became his second chart-topper of the year in August.
