AZ & Termanology Live Show – Wednesday 29th September with Host Mystro and DJ 279
DJ 279’s Friday Nite Flavas Rap Show is the longest running Rap Show in the UK boasting more than 15 years of transmitting continuous authentic Hip Hop on Choice FM London.
In 1993 DJ 279 launched Flava Of The Month, a monthly Hip Hop party @ The Borderline Club in Charing Cross Rd. The night provided a platform for numerous UK artists such as Fallacy, Blak Twang, Estelle, Skinnyman, MCD, David J and Funky DL, as well as UK DJ legends, Steve Wren, Cutmaster Swift, Big Ted & Baby K on regular turntable duties, not to mention the infamous open Mic, F.O.T.M was a must attend event for many years.
Flava Of The Month was also responsible for bringing Mad Skillz, Dead Prez, Big L, O.C, Canibus, DJ Cash Money, Tony Touch, Big L, Big Daddy Kane and Master Ace to the UK, and those are just a few names on a very illustrious list.
Now Flava Of The Month is back to do it all over again……………kicking off proceedings with AZ & Termanology.
AZ first appeared on the scene in 1994 being the only emcee to feature on Nas’ debut album ‘lllmatic’ with the track ‘Life’s A Bitch’. Since then he has worked with Nas on numerous projects including being a member of the group The Firm, alongside Nas, Foxy Brown, Nature & Cormega.
AZ returns with his new album ‘Doe or Die 2’ due for release in October 2010.
Termanology’s big break came in 2006 when DJ Premier blessed him with one of his signature, scratch-laden beats on ‘Watch How It Go Down’ which instantly became an underground classic and put Termanology on Hip-Hop's international radar. The conscious hood anthem garnered the earnest MC tons of praise, landing him in The Source’s ‘Unsigned Hype’ and XXL's ‘Show and Prove’ columns.
In September 2008, he released his debut album, ‘Politics As Usual’, to critical acclaim. The album featured production and appearances from Hip-Hop heavyweights such as Bun B, Prodigy, Freeway, Sheek Louch, The Alchemist, Pete Rock, Buckwild, Easy Mo Bee & Large Professor.
Since the release of his debut album, Term has toured extensively including a cross country U.S. run with Method Man & Redman, and overseas with acts such as DJ Premier, M.O.P. & La Coka Nostra. In September 2009 he released a new street album ‘Time Machine (Hood Politics VI)’ featuring the single ‘I See Dead People’ produced by The Alchemist. In 2010 Termanology has two planned retail releases, ‘1982’ with Statik Selektah on the beats & ‘Fizzyology’ a project with Lil Fame of M.O.P.
