WATCHMAN
Watchman is one of the UK’s foremost Dancehall & Reggae artists, a Christian who has a prophetic message for the young and disenfranchised today. He is one of the few in his arena, not only anointed, not just called, but chosen and equipped for this generation. Having experienced a life common to many young people today, he is very much a practical and relevant spokesman, a speaker so full of love and compassion. Watchman is a graduate of the school of Psalmody making him a dean, he also graduated from the Brixton Bible Institute (which is part of Ruach Ministries) in 2006 with a certificate in Practical Theology.

Watchman wanted to give something back to his community, so he founded the RAP (Reaching All People) Academy in 1998. Using his musical creativity he employs his gifts for the benefit of others, taking Ministry to Industry. RAP Academy’s “Music Communication ‘N’ Life Skills” program is accredited by the Duke of Edinburgh Youth Achievement Award. RAP uses music as a vehicle to help encourage young people back towards education and employment. They provide a service for children and young people at risk and help disaffected young people on the margins of their communities to improve their stake holding in society and sense of worth. RAP Academy won the “Black Business Awards” for Social enterprise in 2006.

RAP Academy now provides a supplementary program known as RAP Mentors. Since its launch in April 2007 the Mentoring Program has already proved to be a tremendous success among families within the community and has received write ups within the local newspapers.

Watchman serves as part of the church prison ministry making frequent visits to the lads and girls, in a place he himself was once accustomed to, as well as running his own “Prison Ministry”, H.M.P. Harvesting Mans Potential will be launched in Belmarsh Prison in early 2008. H.M.P is a Personal Development Program and is accredited by the Open College Network; a senior government official is now looking over the H.M.P program with the aim to match funds. H.M.P targets offenders/ex-offenders and consists of lifelong re-settlement courses, seminars, conferences and workshops within Prisons and Young Offending Institutes. The program is also adapted to working with ex-offenders and offenders on day care release, working in communities, preparing them for their return to the community and supporting first time offenders in prison with self development, training and employment opportunities.

With a powerful and prophetic message from Crime to Christ, Watchman released his album ‘Like Neva B4’ on the OTR label. The album takes you on a journey with catchy hooks, banging beats and an infectious sound, featuring a special guest appearance from Bishop John Francis. This is one artist who is causing waves in both Christian and mainstream industries and has performed with many top artists on the largest stages, nationally and internationally.

OTR are excited to announce the release of Watchman’s first music video, for the single ‘Christian Party’.
