TC
TC Speaks about the musical journey which has lead him
too be one of the most talked about unsigned acts of 2007.

I was born March 14th 1983 in South London, Lewisham hospital. “TC” yeah that’s me my farther named me after a Greek god “Taylo’s” for those of you that know me you will know my name is Tylon Clayton, yeah I know Tylon, Taylos it doesn’t even rhyme………. my mum never clicked to the name straight away, so she broke it down to TC and ever since it’s stayed with me.

Music has been a part of me as far back as I can remember, my dad was in a sound and he used to take me to studio with him, I have even got a tape of me when I was about 4 singing over some Jah shaka music. From a child I've been dragged to family functions time after time, listening to Dennis Brow, Beres Hammond, Frankie Paul, Marcia griffins Gregory Isaac just to name a few!!!! Just to top that off every Friday was a jamming session at my house to all hours of the night, you can just imagine the b- line when I was trying to sleep, so yeah naturally I've had a ear for music, but to be totally honest the first time I actually got a inspired or wanted to start pursuing the music career myself was after listening to skibadee I was about 11 or 12 I used to lock into kool fm hard listening to skibadee, shabba, det, they used to buss it up, theirs me first year of secondary school dropping some big boy lyrics in the playground like they were mine LOL

The first time I recorded something myself was when I was around 13 I used to go to my Friends “Scareface” house, we used to record on his mum little stereo through the speaker we was like yes people your locked into manner FM “LORD” the memories. I also remember lunchtimes and after schools I would do drum and base sets and my friends houses mark cooper, Danny dah funk de and DJ genius note that all these boys were white cos they were the only ones that could afford decks those days. We used to make tapes copy them and give them out in school.

In 1998 a lot of the people I used to mc with went off drum and base and starting doing garage but I was like what the hell, I was trying to do jungle lyrics over garage beats it was just to slow sounded nuts. Then I heard a couple of sun city tape packs I heard man like dt, creed viper etc bussing it, I think it was year after that about 1999 my cousin had a link with the owner of supreme fm 96.1fm so we managed too land a set every Tuesday 10-12 it was heavy a real radio station real people actually calling up and wanted t get a big up and saying we were smashing it up it was a real buzz man, we did that for a about a year, so after leaving supreme fm I started up my own promotion company which involved running under 21 events , I was only like 17, the first rave I ran it was called “temperature” this was in south London. 2001 me and my dj had a set on taste fm every Tuesday I was going college these times mad manage to create a good awareness I was still running promotions and about a year later I got a link with nasty crew sharky major and I invested into a mix cd which was called streets talk this was a live mc session with mc’s from south and east. At that time I recorded a track which was called MIRROR MIRROR and it was the only rap track on the cd…… After releasing streets talk vol 1 mirror mirror managed to create an interest throughout London this times channel u was just bussing so I decided to shoot a video and landed a regular spot on the play list and within weeks it BLEW…….
