20 year-old Stylo G is from South London and Jamaican-born. He is part of The Digital Horde, a new London-based audio / visual production company.. Stylo G (Jason McDermott) was born on 16 July 1985, in Spanish Town, Jamaica, where he was also raised. He has been involved in music from a very young age. Growing up his musical heroes were early 1990s ragga acts such as Shabba Ranks and Super Cat and his father. Aged just 7, Stylo G was performing on stage with his father, Poison Chang. Poison Chang was an up-an-coming Jamaican ragga MC in 1992, who recorded with various acts such as Top Cat; he had various local hits including his biggest one, Press Up, which was released on various compilations outside Jamaica, too. His career was cut short when he passed away in 1998 when Stylo was 13 years old. At the age of 15, Stylo moved to England with his younger brother. He was determined to take his music seriously and was hoping that moving to London would allow him to take it to the next level. Musically, he is now into Beenie Man, Bounty Killa, Elephant Man, but also loves hip-hop, RnB and UK Garage. Stylo G has been living in Peckham, South London since landing.
