MZ FONTAINE
Mz Fontaine, a native Guyanese since 1978, has shown from an early age, a natural flair for entertaining.

“I remember since the age of two or three, he (Fontaine’s dearly departed father) wanted me to be in music, modelling and even a ballerina, now; can you see Mz Fontaine dressed in a tutu?” - g3 magazine Feb. 2006

From attending school choir, gospel concerts she later joined a singing group. Mz Fontaine’s voice has carefully been crafted into a true piece of art and her stage presents clearly indicates her growth as a solo artist and legendary material.

The best phrase to describe Mz Fontaine’s performance “is a shining light” which gently ignites the audience from a small cosy glow into an intensely liberating explosion of energy. It is hard to believe that this young star is the same person who once claimed of having stage fright.

“Her second home really is the stage; it may even be her first.” - Autobiographer

In addition to being an artist, Mz Fontaine is also a business entrepreneur having founded an independent Label “Fondation Entertainment” catering for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transsexual (LGBT) artistes in 2001. Now in 2006, this is housed under the “Fondation Group of Companies“.

When she’s not performing, Fontaine can always be found behind her computer - “My computer is my life and the label is my platform.”

Fondation Entertainment was created to assist unsigned LGBT artists further their careers by providing them with a first class service in every aspect of music production. In addition, Fondation Entertainment’s motto ‘Pushing musical boundaries’ is there to highlight to other musicians and society that LGBT covers other music genres including R&B, Hip-Hop, Rock and Urban Soul to name a few.

“The idea of this new label is to launch such (LGBT) artists into the main stream instead of being secluded to just gay audiences. Music by LGBT artists is no different to any other music - it's just from a different point of view.” - Mz Fontaine

Spring 2006, sees the upcoming release of Mz Fontaine's’ second single “If Sumday” off her acclaimed debut album ‘New Era’.
