My name is Kwadjo. I am a bass player, guitarist, keyboard player, drummer, trumpet player and singer songwriter. I have a band called BEYOND THE STARS and i have been playing and doing gigs for MANY MANY years in and around London and Europe. i AM SPONSERED BY FENDER GUITARS. Beyond the stars is a culmination of unique and talented musicians, who have come together to form a niche in the market, which is PURE FUNK in what ever form you want it. Their colourful, enigmatic front man, Kwadjo has had a world of experience, playing for numerous people such as Kym Mazzelle, Finlay Quaye, Omar, Damage, Dreem Team Radio1 ,Estelle, Imagination,Juxci D, (2play) MANGROVE STEEL BAND, Don-e, Tony Allen(Fela Kutis Drummer) and Ty( Mercury Award Nominee). He is a multi-instrumentalist and is currently playing bass and BASS keys for ROISIN MURPHY lead singer of MOLOKO. Alongside Kwadjo IN BTS. is session singer Misha Sutherland who has performed with Blazing squad, Jamalia, Nate James, Natalie Williams, Eska and Soweto Kinch. She has earned best female vocalist two years running at Urban Voice. In the live set up, there is Brixton based and multi-instrumentalist Mr. Andrew Mclean on drums, former drummer of Sugababes, Andy Jaques on bass, and Toshi Matsunaga from Japan on guitar . They have all done the rounds and played at Ronnie Scotts, Jazz Caf, Brixton Academy, The Forum and all the major venues in London, Britain and Europe. Their music is Funk based but has a touch of all their influences. This includes Parliament/Funkadelic, the Isley Bros., Sly and the family Stone, James Brown, Prince, Hendrix, Coltrane, Earth wind and fire and a healthy amount of Latin American Music. Many have said they are the best live band in London. Others say they are the best.
