BLACKOUT JA
|
Blackouts the ‘THE NAME HAVING A DEEPER MEANING’ were formed a couple years ago by a group of boys from Norwood, Thornton heath and Clapham junction (South London). There intentions weren’t to be mainstream, but due to coincidence and ‘word of mouth’ the name and the movement began to spread. Current members STRICT, BULLET,
A-B and MR SKEEF were friends before blackouts, so it’s not just the music they are family. Their first video titled “My lyfe” featuring the voice of cherelle which was shot early 2006 is a sign of bigger and better things to come.
Strict-The boy from the blocks, the youngest of the group will tell you it’s not all about age, but the experience. His rhyming pattern has been described as careless, he has the voice which is rapidly been recognized by the masses. Responsible for the track “What you sayin bro” which tells a story of tragedy he’s more than representing for the family. A conscious artist who is considered to be one of the new and refreshing talents outhere at the moment.
A-b- The boy from Norwood has always been involved in the music scene from an early age. His style and quick-witted flow is due to his background as a garage Mc ‘back in the day’. Running the airwaves on pirate stations he became known to the underground scene at the time. A-B like the rest of the group has overcome some difficult times in his life, which he’s never been afraid to share in his music. His solo track Me & You which is a big hit at the moment as earned him respect as one of the most nices’t artist around.
Bullet- probably one of the most gifted artists around, his style is most definitely unique. His ‘slow flow and conscious lyrics are rapidly drawing attention to the masses. Growing up in st Marys ,Jamaica and coming to the UK he manages to draw you a picture of the comparisons. In 2003 he recorded “Ways to live” which was one of the tracks that bought attention to his name. Along with co-member Strict, he flows and describes his life graphically as a boy growing up and most certainly has respect of his peers.
Mr. skeef- well known producer from “Clap town” (clapham junction) is the sound behind the vocals. He’s changed the idea of just a stereotypical rap or grime beat to its own genre. He’s responsible for producing the track “My lyfe” and also introduced the industry to the powerful voice of cherelle which is the vocal to the track. Talented, Mr. Skeef also known as N.E.S. He also has a taste for the mic and has showed that his more than a producer. Working with best in the industry he takes credit for a couple of the beats you might have heard from your favorite artists.
